Riyadh to host the 7th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2025
The 40th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia - which was held today in Dubai - approved the victory of Riyadh to host the 7th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2025 AD for the first time in its history.
On this occasion, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense - may God protect them both - for The interest and support they attach to Saudi sports have greatly contributed to placing the Kingdom in the ranks of the world's advanced sports countries.
His Highness said in a press statement: "In light of this unlimited support from our wise leadership and the follow-up and interest of His Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi sport has taken advanced steps globally, represented by hosting a number of international sports events and courses, most notably the Asian Games 2034, in addition to To the generous and great support that resulted in the launch of a strategy to support sports federations with a budget of two billion and 600 million riyals, and today we are winning - for the first time in the history of the Kingdom - the right to host the Asian Games for Indoor and Martial Arts 2025 AD, thanks to God and then this generous support.
His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, Secretary-General and Member of the Executive Office of the Olympic Council of Asia, headed the Saudi delegation in the work of the Assembly on behalf of His Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, which included the two members of the Committee’s Board of Directors. The Olympic Committee, His Highness Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah, Adwaa Al-Arifi, and Executive Director of Marketing and Institutional Communication Abdulaziz Al-Baqous, during which the report of the Organizing Committee of the 22nd Asian Games (Riyadh 2034) was approved after the presentation by His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi, in which he explained the long-term plan for Asia.
The meeting discussed a number of topics, most notably the Winter Olympics (Beijing 2022), the 19th Asian Games (Guangzhou 2022), and the 22nd Asian Games (Riyadh 2034).
It is worth noting that the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games were held for the first time in Thailand in 2005, then Macau in 2007, Vietnam in 2009, South Korea in 2013, and Ashgabat in 2017, with Thailand hosting the sixth edition in 2023.
