Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar AlKhorayef, met with officials of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) in Kazakhstan to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the industrial and mining sectors and to explore new avenues for economic and investment partnerships between the two countries.
During the visit, the minister was briefed on the center’s role in supporting Kazakhstan’s investment environment, enhancing legal confidence, and protecting investors’ rights. He also highlighted the incentives and advantages offered by Saudi Arabia to international investors, including 100% foreign ownership in many sectors and a range of support measures for industrial projects.
BETH Analysis
The visit reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing strategy of expanding economic partnerships beyond traditional markets, particularly with countries that possess significant natural resources and strategic positions along major trade and energy corridors connecting Asia and Europe.
Kazakhstan is increasingly viewed as a promising partner in the mining and minerals sectors, both of which have become key priorities within the Kingdom’s economic diversification agenda.
The significance of these efforts extends beyond attracting investment. They are also aimed at building long-term cooperation in finance, industry, and supply chains, strengthening economic integration between the two countries and creating new opportunities for shared growth.
