Work is accelerating on King Salman Stadium, one of the largest stadiums in the world, set to host the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2034 FIFA World Cup, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s ambition to deliver a fully integrated global sporting model.

The stadium will have a capacity of 92,000 spectators and is scheduled for completion in 2029, based on a world-class design by Populous that combines visual identity with advanced functionality.

The design concept is inspired by the natural landscape of Saudi Arabia, portraying the stadium as seeds emerging from the الأرض, symbolizing growth and the Kingdom’s commitment to promoting sports participation, while seamlessly integrating with King Abdulaziz Park and its surrounding valley.

The project forms part of a broader development that includes sports, commercial, and entertainment facilities, transforming it into a comprehensive destination that goes beyond the traditional concept of a stadium into a vibrant urban hub.

The stadium offers an advanced fan experience through a seating design that brings spectators closer to the action, alongside premium hospitality features including a royal suite, hospitality boxes, and dedicated seating for VVIPs and VIPs, in addition to general seating areas.

A rooftop walking path provides panoramic views of King Abdulaziz Park, while indoor gardens and advanced screens enhance the overall visitor experience.

The design fully complies with FIFA standards, ensuring the ability to host top-tier international football events, with operational flexibility to accommodate a wide range of activities.
