Dakar Saudi Arabia 2026 Resumes Sunday as Competitors Head to Wadi Al-Dawasir

The Dakar Rally Saudi Arabia 2026 resumes tomorrow, Sunday, January 11, with the launch of Stage Seven, starting from Riyadh and finishing in Wadi Al-Dawasir, covering a total distance of 876 kilometers, including 462 kilometers of timed special stage.

Competitors benefited from a rest day on Saturday, January 10, allowing teams to service vehicles, address technical issues, and prepare for the decisive stages that require maximum readiness and sustained performance.

In the car category, Qatari driver Nasser Al-Attiyah of Dacia Sandriders leads the overall standings, followed by South Africa’s Henk Lategan in second place, 6 minutes and 10 seconds behind, while Spain’s Nani Roma of Ford Racing sits third, 9 minutes and 13 seconds off the lead.

In the Challenger category, Spain’s Pau Navarro of Odyssey Academy tops the standings, ahead of Argentina’s Nicolás Cavigliasso of Team Vertikal Motorsport by 4 minutes and 57 seconds, with Chilean Lucas Del Río in third, 25 minutes and 54 seconds behind.

In the motorcycles category, Australia’s Daniel Sanders of Red Bull KTM aims to maintain his overall lead, with American Ricky Brabec of Honda Energy trailing by just 45 seconds, while Argentina’s Kevin Benavides of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing is third, 10 minutes and 15 seconds behind.

In the SSV category, American Brock Heger of RZR Factory continues to dominate, leading France’s Xavier de Soultrait by 32 minutes and 20 seconds, and fellow American Kyle Chaney of Can-Am Factory by 53 minutes and 18 seconds.

In the trucks category, Dutch driver Janus van den Brink of Eurol Rally Sport leads the standings, ahead of Czech Martin Macík of MM Technology by 35 minutes and 24 seconds, with Czech Aleš Loprais of Rooy FPT in third, 46 minutes and 10 seconds behind.
