Martin Sesks Leads Overall Standings on Day 3 of “Saudi Rally 2025”

The final round of the FIA World Rally Championship, “Saudi Rally 2025 – powered by Jameel Motorsport”, continued today, Friday, 28 November 2025. The rally—held for the first time in the Kingdom and running until 29 November—is organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports, by the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, with commercial operations managed by Saudi Motorsport Company.
Day three delivered intense competition among the drivers. Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux, driving for Hyundai, secured victory in Stage 9 “Al-Ghula 1”, while Estonian Ott Tänak dominated Stages 10 and 11, “Umm Al-Jarm 1” and “Wadi Al-Mutawi 1”, continuing his strong performance throughout the day.
In the afternoon loop, Tänak maintained his momentum by winning Stage 12 “Al-Ghula 2”. Martin Sesks, the Ford driver from Latvia, claimed victory in Stage 13 “Umm Al-Jarm 2”, while Finland’s Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) closed the day with a win in Stage 14 “Wadi Al-Mutawi 2”.
These results reshaped the overall standings, with Martin Sesks ending the day at the top with a total time of 2:43:20.1, followed closely by Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) in second place with 2:43:23.5, and Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota) in third with 2:44:01.6. Adrien Fourmaux, who had previously led the rally, dropped to fourth after receiving a one-minute time penalty.
By the end of Day 3, competition for the title intensified among Toyota Gazoo Racing’s trio: Elfyn Evans, Sébastien Ogier, and Kalle Rovanperä. Rovanperä finished the day in fifth place with 2:44:32.7, just 0.2 seconds ahead of Ogier, while Evans slipped to seventh following a tire puncture in Stage 11 that cost him 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
In the WRC2 category, Britain’s Gus Greensmith (Škoda) led the field with a total time of 2:52:12.6, followed by teammate Nikolay Gryazin of Bulgaria in second, and Poland’s Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Toyota) in third. Saudi driver Hamza Bakhsheb finished the day in ninth place.
In WRC3, Italy’s Matteo Fontana continued to dominate, posting a total time of 3:06:01.5, with India’s Naveen Poligilla in second place and Saudi driver Saeed Al-Mouri in third.
The “Saudi Rally 2025 – powered by Jameel Motorsport” concludes tomorrow, Saturday, with Stage 15 “Dhahban 1” at 8:35 a.m., followed by Stage 16 “Asfan”, before wrapping up with the 17th and final Wolf Power Stage, “Dhahban 2”.
