The United Nations Commission of Inquiry, mandated by the Human Rights Council, issued an urgent report confirming that Israel has committed “genocide in the Gaza Strip”, stating that official statements made by Israeli authorities constitute “direct evidence of genocidal intent.”

🔹 The UN Report

Based on documented evidence and testimonies, the commission concluded that Israel’s policies and practices in Gaza meet the threshold of genocide under international law.

Called on all states to honor their legal and moral obligations to stop these crimes and hold those responsible accountable.

Warned of the worsening humanitarian and legal situation in Gaza if international silence continues.

🔹 Israeli Reaction
Israel’s ambassador in Geneva dismissed the report as “disgraceful and false,” claiming that the commission was “politicizing its work and ignoring the security context,” insisting the allegations were “baseless” and aimed at smearing Israel.

🔹 Expected International Reactions
The report is expected to spark wide debate at the UN Security Council and the Human Rights Council, amid growing global criticism of Israeli military operations in Gaza that have left tens of thousands dead.

✒️ BETH Commentary
The UN report marks a legal and moral turning point; what is happening in Gaza is no longer described as mere “violations” or “war crimes,” but as a documented genocide under international law.

Yet the deeper question remains:
Will this report translate into practical steps at the level of international courts and sanctions, or will it remain just another document in the UN archives?

The real test is not in the words, but in the will of the international community:

To deliver justice for the victims and hold perpetrators accountable.

Or to continue the game of double standards, fueling escalation and undermining the credibility of the global system.
