Beth: The President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, Maryam Rajavi, affirmed the Iranian people’s readiness to overthrow the mullahs’ regime in Iran, calling on the international community to stand by its demand for change.

She said during a televised speech at the opening of the “Free Iran” conference held in Washington that the Iranian people are more ready than ever to overthrow the regime, stressing the Iranians’ desire and determination to change and their rejection of the mullahs’ regime as a whole.

She explained that the Iranian people are determined to overthrow the priestly regime as they overthrew the Shah’s dictatorship, noting that they provided 120,000 of their best sons in order to establish a republic based on democratic values that would allow them to assume the sole decision-making power.

In the context of her speech, she referred to the widespread protests by all segments of Iranian society and the activities of the resistance units inside Iran.

In diagnosing the country’s internal conditions, Rajavi said that the regime is mired in intractable crises, noting the worsening living conditions of citizens.

She stated that the economic structures of the regime are destroyed, as the inflation rate exceeded 50%, and unemployment is on the rise, noting that the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the IRGC looted the people’s wealth for themselves or their interventions in the region, and the projects of nuclear and missile weapons and drones.

She drew attention to the regime’s corruption and its fear of exacerbating popular resentment and the recurrence of events such as the November 2019 uprising that shook its pillars.

When addressing the political situation of the regime, Rajavi stopped the fraudulent elections that resulted in the inauguration of Ibrahim Raisi as president and the appointment of Gholam Hossein Ejei to head the judiciary, pointing to a key role in implementing Khomeini’s fatwa to execute the Mujahideen Khalq, as he was a member of the death squad when 30,000 political prisoners were executed during 1988.

She added that the head of the regime’s Shura Council was also a commander of the IRGC and was proud of his role in suppressing student protests in 2009.

She stressed that Khamenei wants to preserve his fragile regime with Raisi and his government subject to the influence of the IRGC commanders, and the policy of deflation, but the crises of the system are so deep and the gap between the people and the regime is so great that Khamenei is unable to solve them and is unable to contain the anger of the citizens.

She stressed the commitment of the National Council of Resistance of Iran to holding free elections and respecting the rights of the Iranian people after the fall of the mullahs’ regime.

We are committed to equality between men and women, including in political and economic leadership, and we reject the death penalty and the mullahs’ laws in the name of Islam, and we want a non-nuclear Iran.

She renewed her call to the international community and world leaders to align their policies with the will of the Iranian people and to look at Iran through its people and not its criminal rulers.

In her opening speech, Rajavi called for the implementation of all UN Security Council resolutions that were suspended in 2015. She referred to the mullahs’ use of nuclear talks to silence the international community about the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran and terrorism and its interventions in the region.

She said the Iranian people expect the international community to hold Ebrahim Raisi accountable for genocide and crime against humanity in an international court.

She warned against making deals with the mullahs’ regime, noting that such deals go directly into the pockets of the guards, strengthening the apparatus of repression and exporting terrorism.

Former US Vice President: Resistance units in Iran are the axis of hope for the Iranian people and the engine of change from within

For his part, former US Vice President Mike Pence affirmed the support of the American people for the goal of the Iranian resistance, which is to establish a democratic, non-nuclear Iranian republic that derives its just power from a people who support the government.

He criticized the policy of former President Barack Obama and current Joseph Biden, which encourages the tyrannical rulers of Iran to suppress the opposition and mercilessly suppress the uprisings of the Iranian people.

He said that the Iranian regime was not weaker than it is today, pointing to the chaos of the economy, where the inflation rate has risen dramatically, the Iranian currency has lost 90% of its value, four out of five Iranians live below the poverty line, and corruption has reached an all-time high.

He praised the Iranian resistance movement, noting that it is stronger than ever before, describing the resistance units in Iran as an axis of hope for the Iranian people, and an engine for change from within during the ongoing uprisings and protests.

He said that one of the biggest lies that the mullahs’ regime has sold to the world is the absence of an alternative to the status quo, stressing the existence of a well-organised, fully-equipped, fully qualified and popularly supported alternative named the People’s Mojahedin Organization.

He stressed that the People’s Mojahedin Organization, led by Maryam Rajavi, is committed to democracy, human rights and freedom for every Iranian citizen, referring to its ten-point plan for Iran’s future, freedom of expression, assembly, and the freedom of every Iranian to choose his elected leaders.

More than 1,000 representatives of the Iranian-American community from 40 states and victims of Ebrahim Raisi’s crimes participated in the conference, demanding accountability and urging the United States to adopt a decisive policy toward Iran.

The organizers affirmed their support for Rajavi’s ten-point plan for the establishment of a democratic and non-nuclear republic in Iran that would promote peace in the Middle East and beyond.

A conference in Washington on the Iranian nuclear insurgency and terrorism, Iran and its interventions in the region

Within the framework of the “Free Iran” conference, a large crowd of expatriate Iranians attended. On Thursday, October 28, 2021, a conference was held in Washington on the Iranian nuclear rebellion, terrorism, Iran and its interventions in the region and Ibrahim’s key role in the 1988 massacre.

The conference joined 1,000 Iranian-American community leaders from 40 states and victims of Ebrahim Raisi’s crimes to demand accountability and urge the United States to lead decisive policy toward Iran.

At the beginning of the conference, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, spoke

Former US Vice President Mike Pence - who was in office until January 2021 - also delivered his speech at the conference.

-

Other conference speakers were Joseph Lieberman, a former senator and Democratic Vice Presidential candidate

Mr. Michael Mukezzi, 81st Attorney General of the United States

Mr. Robert Torreselli, Former Democratic Senator

General James Conway, 34th Commander of the United States Marine Corps

Below we provide you with excerpts from the speeches made by the speakers during the conference, as follows:

Senator Joe Lieberman, US Vice Presidential Candidate

We are here not only because we believe in your cause, said Mr. Guliberman, but because we believe in you. You will not rest and we will not rest until Iran is liberated….You have a plan to rule Iran after the collapse of this regime. You have a brave and inspiring leader, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi…

The regime in Iran led the policy of aggression and sabotage in the region and caused untold suffering and death to the people of Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and of course Iran. This regime executed 30,000 prisoners in 1988 just because they were members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization.

Instead of serving as the head of a great country like Iran, Raisi should be arrested, taken to The Hague and prosecuted for crimes against humanity and genocide…The regime in Tehran is at its weakest point since the revolution. Its economy is in shambles….the world can destroy the regime by supporting the Iranian people.

Michael Mukezzi, the 81st US Attorney

Choosing someone like Raisi, who was directly involved in the massacre of thousands in 1988, to be president, said Mr. Mukezi, was enough to show that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the rest of the regime don’t care how the outside world views them…. Since he took office, we’ve seen an escalation in threats. With missile launches, drone attacks and other devices of destruction, then we moved closer to negotiations under the ill-fated Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action that can only be described as a manipulation of the concept of a nuclear-free Iran…

And the regime’s personality continued to appear in courtrooms around the world. Assadollah Asadi’s trial ended this year in a Belgian court.

More recently, Hamid Nouri’s trial for crimes committed during the 1988 massacre in Sweden continued.

The response must be unrelenting pressure and an open willingness to engage with individual members of the system, including my boss himself, in whatever manner is available.

The only way to terminate system behavior is to terminate the system itself.

Continuing pressure through sanctions, continued refusal to deceive, can help resume lying about its nuclear program, and to prosecute individual criminals. These are the tools we have and we shouldn’t hesitate to use them.

Senator Robert Torricelli, US Senator

Senator Robert Torricelli confirmed that the leadership in Tehran has gone from bad to choosing the genocidal leader, as president.

They look strong so they aren’t. You know they will fall. You know that the day of the fall is near. You know it will happen because you know the Iranian people.

I have never seen a bipartisan coalition in America with the depth of support the MEK has. I’ve never seen anything like it before. There is one organization and one that has the means, leadership, focus and international support to join the international community. That organization is the People’s Mojahedin Organization and Ms. Rajavi is its leader.

General James Conway, 34th Commander of the Marine Corps

In his speech, General Conway said about the mullahs’ regime that they are fighting proxy wars now as we are here today in two countries, and they have armed militias interfering in the rule of three others. “Iran now has a criminal president,” he added. My chief’s hands are stained with the blood of 30,000 of your compatriots. He was one of four members of the infamous death commission that oversaw 30,000 executions in 1988. If we or a European country starts dealing with this person, all we will do is strengthen this system.
