Al-Jubeir: The facts in the Bezos phone case refute the propagandists ’allegations against Saudi Arabia
Adel Al-Jubeir, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, commented on the emergence of facts in the case of businessman Jeff Bezos' phone, stressing that it refuted the allegations of some predators who tried to offend Saudi Arabia and accuse it at the time of being behind the hack.
Al-Jubeir wrote through a tweet on his official account on the social networking site Twitter: "Now that the facts are clear in the so-called case of the hacking of Jeff Bezos's phone and that the Kingdom has nothing to do with these allegations, as we confirmed at the time."
He added, "Will those who accused the kingdom and try to publicly harm its reputation admit to preserve their credibility?"
Western press reports had revealed that the former husband of the American broadcaster Lauren Sanchez was the one who leaked the details of her relationship with the billionaire American businessman Jeff Bezos.
The British newspaper "Daily Mail" said, in a report it published, that businessman Patrick Whitesell was still married to TV presenter Lauren Sanchez when the National Enquirer newspaper published pictures revealing the details of her romantic relationship with Bezos.
Reports at the time indicated that Sanchez's brother, Michael, was the one who leaked the private photos and texts between the American broadcaster and the richest man in the world, which caused the collapse of Bezos' 25-year marriage to his wife, novelist MacKenzie Scott.
On the other hand, a spokesman for Whitesell denied these reports, saying: They are categorically incorrect.
He added, "Unfortunately, this is not the first time that we have witnessed this desperate attempt by Michael Sanchez (Lauren's brother) to narrate such strange stories."
