King Salman Chairs Cabinet Session

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held today in Riyadh.
The Cabinet reviewed recent consultations and diplomatic engagements between Saudi Arabia and a number of countries regarding regional developments, as well as efforts to strengthen security and stability and support multilateral international cooperation serving development and collective responses to shared challenges.
The Cabinet reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause, and Saudi Arabia’s support for all efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Gaza, leading to the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Cabinet also expressed support for the outcomes of the extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Somalia, held in Jeddah, stressing Saudi Arabia’s rejection of any attempts to impose parallel entities that undermine Somalia’s unity, territorial integrity, or sovereignty.
The Cabinet praised the success of the “Gulf Shield 2026” joint military exercise, hosted by Saudi Arabia with the participation of air forces and air defense units from GCC states and the Unified Military Command, as part of efforts to enhance regional defense cooperation and operational readiness.
It further reviewed the results of major economic events hosted by the Kingdom, notably the Saudi-Japanese Investment Forum and the Saudi-Canadian Business and Investment Forum, which saw the signing of multiple memoranda of understanding in sectors including space, telecommunications, information technology, cybersecurity, education, finance, water, agriculture, and manufacturing.
Cabinet Decisions
The Cabinet approved several international agreements and administrative decisions, including:
A memorandum of understanding with Canada on bilateral political consultations.
A memorandum of understanding with Poland in the field of agriculture.
Two memoranda of understanding with Kuwait on housing and civil service and administrative development.
Authorization for the Minister of Health to negotiate and sign an MoU with Singapore on cooperation in infectious disease prevention.
A statistical cooperation agreement with Oman.
Saudi Arabia’s accession to the Makkah Convention of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on anti-corruption law enforcement.
An MoU with Qatar on promoting integrity, transparency, and combating corruption.
The Cabinet also approved a number of organizational and administrative measures, including:
Adoption of the final accounts of several government authorities.
Renewal and appointment of members to the Board of the Saudi Geological Survey.
Promotions of senior officials at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
Instructions regarding the annual reports of several ministries and government agencies.
