Northern Borders Investment Forum 2025 Launched with SAR 40 Billion in Opportunities

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Northern Borders Region, today inaugurated the Northern Borders Investment Forum 2025, organized by the Emirate of the region at the Ministry of Interior Employees Club in Arar. The forum brings together ministers, senior officials, experts, advisors, business leaders, CEOs, and investors from across the Kingdom and abroad.

During the forum, more than 240 investment opportunities were unveiled across the Northern Borders Region, with an estimated total value of approximately SAR 40 billion. These opportunities span key priority sectors, including livestock and food industries, mining and energy, tourism and environment, and logistics.

HRH Prince Faisal toured the exhibition pavilions of participating government entities and private sector companies, reviewing showcased initiatives, programs, and investment-ready projects. He emphasized that the forum reflects the strong support of the Kingdom’s wise leadership for development pathways and investment expansion, reinforcing the region’s growing investment profile and enhancing its overall business environment.

He noted that the Northern Borders Region possesses significant development assets, including natural resources, a strategic logistics location, and advanced infrastructure, positioning it as a competitive destination capable of attracting high-quality investments and accelerating sustainable development.

The Prince explained that the forum serves as an institutional platform to examine sector-specific opportunities through specialized sessions, while presenting key investment enablers such as services, incentives, financing solutions, and regulatory frameworks. He stressed that the Emirate—working in coordination with relevant ministries and national authorities—will translate the forum’s outcomes into practical programs and executable initiatives to maximize the region’s economic potential.

HRH Prince Faisal also directed relevant entities to enhance integration, improve procedural efficiency, and streamline investor journeys to ensure clarity, ease of access, and faster execution. He called on national and international companies, as well as entrepreneurs, to establish long-term partnerships in the region, highlighting the availability of promising opportunities, an attractive investment climate, and strong capabilities aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.

Ministerial Perspectives

Minister of Investment Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih delivered a keynote address, praising the forum as a strategic platform for promoting investment in the Northern Borders Region. He underlined its role in showcasing high-impact investment opportunities, strengthening the business environment, and supporting sustainable growth pathways in line with Vision 2030 objectives.

Meanwhile, Qutaiba bin Ahmad Badawi, Chairman of the General Authority for Ports and Customs of the Syrian Arab Republic, highlighted the forum’s contribution to fostering professional dialogue, development cooperation, and investment promotion. He pointed to Saudi Arabia’s continuous progress in improving its business environment and increasing investment competitiveness across all regions, including the Northern Borders.

Strategic Dialogue and Outlook

The forum featured a documentary film presenting the region’s development strengths, comparative advantages, and available investment opportunities. This was followed by the main panel discussion titled:
“The Northern Borders as a Global Investment Destination: Energy as a Driver of Growth and Sustainable Development.”

The session was moderated by Talat Hafez, with participation from senior officials including the Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the CEO of the Shareek Program, and assistant ministers from the Ministries of Commerce, Education, and Energy.

Speakers affirmed that the forum highlights the region’s promising economic potential and serves as an effective platform for knowledge exchange, partnership development, and investment acceleration.

At the conclusion of the opening ceremony, HRH Prince Faisal honored the forum’s sponsors, including Ma’aden, the Northern Borders Chamber, the Federation of Saudi Chambers, Al-Shamal Educational Company, and the Ministry of Interior Club in the Northern Borders Region.
