King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) has laid the foundation stone for a fully integrated logistics hub spanning 1.4 million sqm, in a move aimed at reinforcing its role as a key logistics center in the energy sector.

The project includes Class A warehouses, chemical storage facilities, and yards for handling and storing industrial products, forming part of an advanced logistics ecosystem that supports energy supply chains.

The development aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives to diversify the economy and localize supply chains. SPARK was launched in 2018 with an ambitious vision to build an integrated industrial platform connecting global opportunities within and beyond the Kingdom’s energy sector.

Located approximately 20 km from Abqaiq, the city spans 50 square kilometers and is expected to contribute over $6 billion to Saudi Arabia’s GDP while creating around 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.

SPARK also hosts the largest privately owned dry port in the Middle East and is structured across three main zones: industrial, non-industrial, and logistics.

The city provides integrated investor services through specialized energy and logistics companies. The project is being implemented in three phases through 2035, with infrastructure development for phase one exceeding 80% completion.

SPARK is the first industrial city to receive LEED Silver certification, and in 2023 alone, it attracted over 20 new investments exceeding $1 billion, with total cumulative investments expected to surpass $3 billion upon full execution of agreements.
