In a milestone that crowns a decade of inspiration and community impact, the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), an Aramco initiative, has won the National Volunteer Award in the Empowerment Track, presented by the National Center for Nonprofit Sector Development.
The award was announced during a ceremony held Thursday morning in Riyadh, in recognition of Ithra’s efforts in building an integrated volunteer ecosystem that empowers youth and strengthens their presence within the cultural and community landscape.
Vital Opportunities
Commenting on the achievement, Musab Al-Saaran, Acting Director of Ithra, said:
“Winning the National Volunteer Award for the fourth time reflects Ithra’s ongoing commitment to advancing the culture of volunteering, and embodies our deep appreciation for the efforts of our volunteers.”
He added that Ithra is committed to preparing young talents for the job market by offering learning spaces and practical opportunities that enhance their skills and develop their capacities.
He emphasized that volunteering is a pillar of quality of life and a source of sustainable social impact aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to reach one million volunteers and build a societal impact that extends into the future.
Youth Empowerment
Al-Saaran — who received the award from H.E. the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi — noted that Ithra has offered volunteer experiences to more than 24,000 volunteers, with more than 30,000 applicants seeking to join, reflecting growing trust in the quality and value of the volunteer experience at Ithra.
Sustainable Impact
Eng. Abdullah Al-Buqami, Acting Director of Operations at Ithra, stated that Ithra’s Volunteer Services Unit has surpassed one million volunteer hours, marking a significant indicator of excellence in volunteer work.
He added that Ithra’s volunteer ecosystem spans various tracks, including:
General volunteering

This integrated system has empowered volunteers and expanded their impact inside and outside the Center, creating sustainable value and elevating the volunteer experience year after year.
Each hour volunteered, he noted, contributes meaningfully to serving the community.
