Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet, Affirms Peace Efforts and Approves Strathclyde University Branch in Riyadh

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held today in Riyadh.
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet was briefed on the content of the telephone call between His Royal Highness and French President Emmanuel Macron, during which they discussed developments in the Gaza Strip and emphasized the need to immediately alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people and ensure Israel’s complete withdrawal, while agreeing on the importance of initiating practical steps toward achieving a just peace based on the two-state solution.
The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for regional and international efforts to promote peace and stability worldwide, welcoming the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan and the establishment of mechanisms aimed at ensuring lasting peace between the two nations.
Minister of Media Salmān bin Yūsuf al-Dawsari stated that the Cabinet discussed several developmental and modernization programs across government entities, notably the launch of the “King Salman Gateway Project” — a major initiative to redevelop the central area of Makkah, transforming it into a world-class urban model aligned with the Guest Experience Program under Vision 2030.
The Cabinet also highlighted the continued efforts to boost housing supply, achieve real estate market balance, and attract domestic and international investors, while commending the Kingdom’s recent international awards in open education, rural development, and rail transport innovation.
Moreover, the Cabinet praised the success of the Saudi International Railway Conference and Exhibition, which hosted representatives from 22 countries and saw the signing of over 50 contracts and agreements supporting the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
Among the key resolutions adopted:
Authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs to negotiate with Sudan on establishing a Saudi–Sudanese Coordination Council.
Approving a headquarters agreement between Saudi Arabia and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD).
Approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and the Higher School of Business and Commerce in Italy to enhance human capital development.
Empowering the Ministry of Interior to apply municipal real estate regulations to properties under its use in training cities and housing facilities.
Approving several senior appointments and promotions within the Cabinet Secretariat and the Bureau of Experts.
Approving the establishment of a branch of the University of Strathclyde (UK) in Riyadh.
The Cabinet also reviewed annual reports from various entities, including the General Authority for Foreign Trade, the General Authority for Roads, the General Commission for Media Regulation, and the National Center for Performance Measurement, and took the necessary decisions accordingly.
