Cabinet, Chaired by the Crown Prince, Backs Trump’s Initiative to End Gaza War and Approves New Development Decisions

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held today in Riyadh, during which the Council reviewed key regional and international developments, along with several domestic and developmental issues.

🔹 Palestinian Issue: Supporting Global Efforts to End the War

The Cabinet welcomed the steps taken regarding U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the war in Gaza, secure the release of hostages, and commence immediate negotiations to agree on implementation mechanisms.
The Council reaffirmed the Kingdom’s firm position in supporting peace, stability, and the protection of civilians.

🔹 Saudi Diplomacy: Active Global Engagement

The Cabinet reviewed the recent international meetings hosted by the Kingdom, emphasizing its commitment to multilateral dialogue and coordinated global action.
It praised the outcomes of the Munich Security Conference Leaders’ Meeting in AlUla, which fostered dialogue on issues of global security, food, climate, energy, and international trade.

🔹 Cybersecurity: Global Saudi Leadership

The Cabinet commended the results of the 2nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers for Cybersecurity, which achieved significant milestones in strengthening joint Arab efforts toward a safe and reliable cyberspace.
It also highlighted the success of the 5th International Cybersecurity Forum, held in Riyadh under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, emphasizing the Kingdom’s global leadership and partnerships in cybersecurity innovation.

🔹 Culture and Sustainable Development

The Cabinet welcomed the selection of Saudi Arabia to host the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development in 2029, recognizing the Kingdom’s prominent role in promoting creativity, innovation, and culture-driven development at both regional and global levels.

🔹 National Budget: Sustaining Economic Momentum

The Council viewed the preliminary statement of the 2026 national budget as a reaffirmation of the Kingdom’s commitment to inclusive economic growth, fiscal sustainability, and efficient developmental and social spending, all in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

🔹 Key Resolutions and Approvals

The Cabinet approved several resolutions, including:

Authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss and sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Thailand on political consultations.

Authorizing the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture to discuss and sign an MoU with Azerbaijan in the agricultural field.

Approving MoUs in health cooperation with Egypt and statistical collaboration with Estonia.

Approving the establishment of the National Institute for Health Research.

Approving the establishment of a branch of the University of New Haven in Riyadh.

Endorsing appointments and promotions for several national leaders across senior government positions.
