Saudi Arabia and Pakistan Sign Joint Strategic Defense Agreement

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received H.E. Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.
An official reception ceremony was held, accompanied by Arabian horses, with the national anthems of both countries played, followed by an inspection of the honor guard.
Official Talks
The Crown Prince and the Pakistani Prime Minister held an official round of talks, during which they reviewed:
The close bilateral relations between the two countries.
Efforts to enhance strategic partnership in various fields.
Regional and international developments.
Issues of common concern and the joint efforts toward security and stability.
Official Banquet
The Crown Prince hosted an official luncheon in honor of the Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, reflecting the deep-rooted ties between the two brotherly nations.

Joint Strategic Defense Agreement
HRH the Crown Prince and the Pakistani Prime Minister signed the Joint Strategic Defense Agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The agreement represents a milestone in bilateral defense cooperation and aims to:
Develop military and defense collaboration between the two countries.
Strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression.
Affirm that any attack on either country shall be considered an attack on both.
Joint Statement
A joint statement was issued regarding the visit, the text of which reads as follows:
At the kind invitation of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, paid a State Visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 25/03/1447H, corresponding to 17/09/2025.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince received the Prime Minister at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, and they held official talks in the presence of both delegations. At the outset, the Prime Minister conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may Allah protect him.
The two sides reviewed the historical and strategic relations between their countries and discussed matters of common concern. Building on a historic partnership spanning nearly eight decades, rooted in ties of brotherhood, Islamic solidarity, and shared strategic interests, as well as close defense cooperation, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister signed the "Joint Strategic Defense Agreement."
The Agreement seeks to strengthen joint security, promote peace and stability in the region and the world, and enhance deterrence against any aggression, affirming that an attack on either country shall be deemed an attack on both.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him and his delegation. He also conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince – may Allah protect them – and to the Saudi people for continued progress and prosperity.
For his part, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince extended his best wishes for the good health and well-being of the Prime Minister and for further progress and development for the brotherly people of Pakistan.
