Council of Ministers, Chaired by King Salman, Reinforces Saudi Arabia’s Global Standing

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – chaired the Cabinet session held today, Tuesday, 27 Muharram 1447 AH, corresponding to July 22, 2025, in Jeddah.

International Messages and Communications
At the outset, the Cabinet reviewed a message from His Majesty King Mswati III of Eswatini, and the phone call received by His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman – may God protect him – from Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa. The call affirmed the Kingdom’s firm stance on supporting Syria’s unity and sovereignty and condemned Israeli aggression and foreign interference.

In this context, the Cabinet emphasized the importance of the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of the Kingdom and other brotherly states, reaffirming support for the Syrian government in its efforts to rebuild the country and ensure stability and sovereignty.

Humanitarian Efforts and Global Stances
The Cabinet reviewed the humanitarian and relief efforts provided by the Kingdom to the Syrian people through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, underscoring the Kingdom’s global leadership in aiding those in need.

The Cabinet welcomed the statement issued by several international partners calling for an end to the war in Gaza and for the lifting of all restrictions on humanitarian aid. It renewed the Kingdom’s call on the international community to urgently act in the face of Israeli intransigence, which continues to undermine peace efforts.

Diplomacy for Peace and Development
The Cabinet expressed its welcome for the signing of a Declaration of Principles between the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Congo River Alliance, hoping it would be a step toward improving humanitarian conditions and bolstering international peace and security.

The Cabinet also commended the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding to develop an integrated system for exporting renewable energy and green hydrogen from Saudi Arabia to Europe, reaffirming the Kingdom’s leading role in the global economic corridor initiative.

Praise for National Achievements
The Cabinet applauded several national initiatives and accomplishments, including:

The performance of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) in achieving diverse strategic targets.

The success of the Saudi conjoined twins program, which has cared for 150 twins from 27 countries and performed 65 separation surgeries.

Saudi Arabia’s election to chair committees and assemblies within the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The Kingdom’s hosting of major international events, such as the Global Health Exhibition, the Global Symposium for Regulators, and the 2027 International Conference of Internal Auditors.

The Cabinet approved several key resolutions, including:

Authorizing the Minister of the National Guard to discuss and sign an MoU with Spain’s Hospital Clínic de Barcelona in gene and cell therapy.

Approving MoUs with Tajikistan in agriculture and with the International Finance Corporation in investment cooperation.

Amending the regulations of the Saudi Red Sea Authority.

Assigning the Jeddah Municipality to oversee environmental monitoring of the western coastline from Rabigh to Al-Qunfudhah.
