Saudi Arabia and Oman... Signing a Memorandum of Understanding to develop the digital economy and launch the Digital Skills Initiative for the two countries
Riyadh - Beth: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman signed in Riyadh today, Thursday, a memorandum of understanding in the field of communications, information technology and mail.

This came during the meeting of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, in his office at the Ministry today, with an Omani delegation headed by the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al-Maawali, and the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to the Kingdom, Faisal bin Turki Al Said.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the digital economy, e-government, cybersecurity, mail and innovation, in which the Kingdom has proven its ability to enhance its presence and reach advanced positions in the world thanks to its ambitious vision 2030.
The memorandum works on enhancing communication between them and exchanging information in the field of communications and information technology and applying them to develop and develop the digital economy, and deepening cooperation between them in a number of areas, including government digital transformation, the development of communications infrastructure, in addition to nurturing talent, capacity building and training, and joint investment in the postal sector. In addition to the areas of governance of communications, information technology and technology companies.
The signing of the memorandum was witnessed by the Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, the Omani Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al-Maawali, and the Sultanate of Oman's ambassador to the Kingdom, Faisal bin Turki Al Said.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, and the Omani Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al-Maawali, launched the Saudi-Omani Digital Skills Initiative, which aims to exchange best practices and experiences, participate in meetings and joint working sessions, and implement joint programs and initiatives. In addition to developing digital skills and qualifying them to meet the requirements of the labor market in the telecommunications and information technology sector to keep pace with the accelerating digital revolution, and contribute to increasing job opportunities in the telecommunications and information technology sector in all its fields.
The initiative includes several training programs that include data and artificial intelligence, software design and development, infrastructure, cyber security, financial technologies, technical project management, digital marketing, and user experience. Through the Future Skills initiative, the program aims to qualify 1,000 trainees by the year 2025. It will also cooperate with the Omani side in raising digital awareness through the dissemination of educational digital content and the provision of technical training courses online through the digital tender webinar, targeting by 2025 to reach 25,000 beneficiaries.
