His Highness explained that the initiative comes within the framework of the continuous support for the efforts of the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and the US envoy to Yemen Timothy Lenderking, the positive role of the Sultanate of Oman, and the push for efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis under the auspices of the United Nations.

He added: "The Kingdom calls on the Yemeni government and the Houthis to accept the initiative, which is an initiative that gives the Houthis the opportunity to arbitrate the mind, stop the Yemeni bloodshed, address the humanitarian and economic conditions that the brotherly Yemeni people suffers from, and to be partners in achieving peace, and to uphold the interests of the honorable Yemeni people and their right to the sovereignty and independence of their homeland." The ambitions of the Iranian regime in Yemen and the region, and to declare their acceptance of the initiative, to be implemented under the supervision and monitoring of the United Nations.

He reaffirmed the Kingdom's full right to defend its lands, citizens and residents from the systematic attacks carried out by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia against civilian objects and vital installations that not only target the Kingdom's national capabilities, but also target the core of the global economy and its supplies, as well as global energy security and corridors. The Kingdom also affirms its total rejection of Iranian interference in the region and Yemen, as it is the main reason for prolonging the Yemeni crisis by supporting the Houthi militias by smuggling, developing and providing weapons and experts, as well as in violation of the relevant Security Council resolutions.

His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs also reiterated the Kingdom's affirmation of its continued support and the coalition countries for the Yemeni people and its legitimate government, and its commitment to its humanitarian role in alleviating the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people, supporting all peace, security and stability efforts in Yemen and moving to a new stage to develop and improve the livelihood of the Yemeni people.

 

Regarding the initiation of the initiative ... and whether its proposal was a unilateral or participatory decision, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs explained that the Kingdom’s initiative to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a comprehensive political solution is now in effect, but it is related to the Houthi militia’s acceptance of what was proposed by stopping the fighting, pointing out that the Kingdom and the coalition previously proposed solutions A policy that includes a ceasefire; In order to preserve Yemeni blood, to preserve brotherly Yemen, and to provide an opportunity for a political solution and to address the humanitarian crisis, the Houthis did not respond to it.

His Highness affirmed that the Kingdom has informed the Yemeni government, all coalition countries, the UN envoy and the United States of America about what they will announce, looking forward to the legitimate Yemeni government accepting this initiative and that there will be a response from the Houthi militia.

Regarding America's position on the Yemeni crisis and the continuation of the Iranian regime and the Houthi militia in its approach, and the Iranian government's desire for rapprochement with the Kingdom, His Highness said: “We expect America and all our partners in the international community to support the initiative and work to make it a success, and in case the Houthis refrain from cooperating in finding ways to develop Sufficient pressure on them to accept the initiative and a ceasefire, "indicating that the American administration expressed its commitment to defending the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against such threats.

Regarding the rapprochement with Iran in the region, His Highness stated that the Iranian regime’s actions in trying to destabilize and develop nuclear programs that could lead to developing nuclear weapons and supplying the Houthis with weapons do not express a desire for rapprochement.

The spokesman for the "Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen", Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, looked forward to accepting the initiative and arbitrating reason, reaching a political solution, and presenting the interests of the Yemeni people.

Regarding the existence of a plan to support the Central Bank of Yemen, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Yemen, who oversees the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, Muhammad bin Saeed Al Jaber, explained that the Kingdom has had a role since the past decades with the support of the Central Bank of Yemen before the Houthi militia took control of the capital, Sana'a, where the bank was supported by an amount $ 1 billion, $ 3 billion in oil derivatives, and more than 3 billion to support infrastructure and basic services, all within two years, and the Kingdom has supported more than $ 17 billion since the beginning of the crisis, including a deposit of $ 2.2 billion to the Central Bank of Yemen and participation in humanitarian response conferences and the establishment of the King Center Salman Relief; To support relief and humanitarian work in cooperation with organizations and the efforts of the Saudi Center for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in the field of infrastructure and basic services, affirming the continued support of the Yemeni government and knowledge of its economic needs to address them.

Brigadier General Al-Maliki affirmed the "Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen" support the Yemeni National Army and stand with the people and protect them from violations.

Regarding the Houthi militia’s failure to adhere to the initiative, al-Maliki stated that the coalition deals with violations and launches of ballistic missiles, drones and other violations wisely, and has the full right to protect the citizens and the kingdom’s capabilities and protect the Yemeni people inside Yemen, indicating that the Kingdom’s treatment of Houthi violations with wisdom is considered courageous.

Regarding the initiative to open Sanaa International Airport, the ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Yemen stated that the initiative is a continuation of the Kingdom's efforts to support peace to achieve the stability of Yemen and the well-being of its people, indicating that the initiative to open Sanaa International Airport is comprehensive and in the event that the Yemeni government and the Houthi militia agree to it, the UN envoy will engage with the two parties to set The necessary arrangements and necessary mechanisms, whether for a ceasefire or the process of opening the airport, and completing the Stockholm Agreement in accordance with the agreed arrangements.

Regarding the revenues for the port of Hodeidah, who is in charge of it and who it is serving, Ambassador Al Jaber stated that the Stockholm Agreement on the Hodeidah Agreement includes a set of steps, including the port revenues and an agreement under the supervision of the UN envoy between the Yemeni government and the Houthi militia regarding customs and tax revenues, as the two parties agreed and the ships were brought in without restrictions in a short time 35 billion Yemeni riyals were deposited in the central bank, the Hodeidah branch, and the Houthis pledged to withdraw the sums and spend them in their war effort, and the UN envoy demanded an explanation of where the sums were spent.
