Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced today the Umrah season calendar for the year 1448H / 2027, including the operational schedule and electronic services related to visa issuance, contracting procedures, and the reception of Umrah pilgrims, as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and improve the experience of the Guests of الرحمن.

Presentation

According to the announced calendar, the issuance of Umrah visas and the entry of pilgrims into the Kingdom will begin on Dhu Al-Hijjah 14, 1447H, corresponding to May 31, 2026.

The entry of pilgrims into Makkah and the issuance of Umrah permits through the Nusuk app will begin on Dhu Al-Hijjah 15, corresponding to June 1, 2026.

The ministry set Shawwal 1, 1448H, corresponding to March 9, 2027, as the final date for issuing Umrah visas, while Shawwal 15, 1448H, corresponding to March 23, 2027, will be the final date for pilgrims to enter the Kingdom.

It also confirmed that Shawwal 30, 1448H, corresponding to April 7, 2027, will be the final deadline for pilgrims to depart, calling on Umrah companies and overseas agents to comply with the approved schedules and regulatory instructions.

The ministry explained that preparations for the new season began early on Ramadan 25, 1447H, corresponding to March 4, 2026, through the launch of a booking service for preliminary agreement appointments between Umrah companies and overseas agents as part of the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum 2026.

The measures also included:

  • Holding the forum and signing agreements at the end of March and beginning of April.
  • Organizing workshops to review lessons learned from the previous season.
  • Launching electronic qualification services for overseas agents and approval of final contracts.
  • Activating contracts related to accommodation, transportation, catering, and enrichment services through the electronic platform.

B Analysis

The early announcement of the Umrah calendar reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued transformation toward a more professional and digital management model for Hajj and Umrah seasons, based on:
advanced scheduling,
electronic integration of services,
and raising operational readiness months before the actual arrival of pilgrims.

It also highlights the Kingdom’s growing reliance on digital platforms — particularly the “Nusuk” application — as part of a broader strategy to build a smart system capable of managing the movement of millions of visitors while enhancing:
processing speed,
service quality,
and coordination efficiency among Umrah companies and service providers.

At a deeper level,
Umrah seasons are no longer managed solely as religious occasions,
but as a sophisticated global operational system,
combining technology,
services,
logistics,
and the complete visitor experience within a more organized and sustainable Saudi vision.
