The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites announced the completion of its operational readiness for the 1447H Hajj season, through an integrated system aimed at enhancing comfort and ensuring smooth flow across all stages of the pilgrim journey.

The Framework

Through its executive arm, Kidana Development Company, the Commission implemented a series of quality projects with investments of approximately SAR 6 billion over the past four years, focusing on upgrading key sites and improving accommodation standards.

Preparations included:

  • Expanding rest areas and pedestrian pathways to 66,000 m²
  • Planting 60,000 trees to enhance the environment and moderate temperatures
  • Increasing mist fan units at Jamarat to 400 high-efficiency units
  • Shading pedestrian routes across 105,000 m²

In Mina,
the capacity of restroom facilities increased to 7,800 units,
contributing to a 75% reduction in waiting times.

On the healthcare front,
Mina Emergency Hospital capacity was expanded by 200%,
alongside the development of Jabal Al-Rahmah with advanced cooling and shading systems.

In transportation,
the General Transport Center completed readiness through a centralized control room based on automation,
with around 24,000 buses prepared, including 2,500 buses designated for transporting pilgrims from entry points,
in addition to the “Makkah Buses” fleet of 400 modern buses covering 14 routes.

The four ring roads were also activated to ensure traffic flow,
efficiently linking the holy sites with the central area.

Miqat locations and mosques of Ihram recorded 100% operational readiness,
supported by water infrastructure serving over 900 facilities,
with a daily capacity exceeding 38,000 visitors.
