A complex operation reinforces Saudi medical leadership

The specialized medical and surgical team of the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program has completed the fourth and fifth stages of the separation of the Filipino twins “Klea and Moris Ann,” in one of the most complex surgical cases globally. The procedure was conducted at King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in King Abdulaziz Medical City of the Ministry of National Guard in Riyadh, lasting approximately 18 and a half hours.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court, Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, and head of the surgical team, stated that the final stages included reconstruction, cosmetic procedures, and closure of the skull, following the successful completion of the first three stages.

He noted that this achievement was made possible by the grace of God and the efforts of the specialized medical team, within an integrated system that delivers the highest standards of precise medical care for such rare and complex cases.

Dr. Al-Rabeeah also expressed appreciation to the leadership for their continued support of the program, which has contributed to strengthening the Kingdom’s global standing in humanitarian and medical fields, and improving the quality of life for beneficiary children and their families.

The operation is not merely read as a surgical success…
but as a test of an integrated system’s capability.

Excellence here is not only in medical skill,
but in managing complexity.

In such cases,
success is not measured by completing the procedure…
but by what is restored of life.
