The Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk” has announced a tender to develop 460 villas within the Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City in Riyadh, spanning more than 121,000 square meters, in a move that reflects a shift in development from infrastructure… to human capital.

The city represents the world’s first nonprofit urban model, covering approximately 3.4 square kilometers, located between Wadi Hanifa, the Arqa district, and the Western Ring Road.

The master plan includes:

  • More than 500 villas and townhouses
  • Around 6,000 residential units
  • Office spaces exceeding 306,000 square meters
  • Retail, entertainment, and dining areas of approximately 99,000 square meters
  • Capacity for about 18,000 residents and 20,000 employees

More than 44% of the total area is allocated to green spaces, within a design focused on sustainability and quality of life.

What is Misk?

The Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk” is a nonprofit organization established in 2011, aimed at empowering youth and developing their capabilities in education, leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Its work is centered on:

  • developing human capital
  • supporting education, technology, and culture
  • building a generation capable of shaping the future

It operates through programs, initiatives, and global partnerships, transforming youth from recipients… into changemakers.

This is not merely a real estate project…
but a new model of development thinking:

A city built not for profit… but to build people

What is happening goes beyond construction to:

  • creating a knowledge-driven environment
  • integrating living with innovation
  • turning the city into a platform for intellectual and cultural production

This reflects a deeper shift:
from investing in “place”…
to investing in “mind.”

Misk City is not just a project…
but an idea:

How can a city create a human…
not just house one?
