The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 44,632 Certificates of Origin during March 2026, reflecting its ongoing efforts to facilitate export services and support exporters across various sectors. This initiative contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Saudi products in regional and international markets.

The official spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Jarrah Al-Jarrah, stated that the Certificate of Origin is an official document confirming that exported products are of national origin or have acquired national origin status. He noted that the service targets industrial establishments, the commercial sector including companies and institutions, as well as individuals such as farmers, fishermen, artisans, and other self-employed professionals.
Al-Jarrah explained that the certificate includes four main types:
- Certificate of Origin for national products exported to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
- Certificate of Origin for national products exported to Arab countries.
- Preferential Certificate of Origin, the unified GCC model used when exporting to countries and economic blocs with which free trade agreements have been concluded.
- General Certificate of Origin in both Arabic and English for countries that do not grant preferential treatment.
