Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman held talks on Wednesday with Greek Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias on ways to enhance military and defense cooperation between the two countries, in addition to reviewing regional developments.

In a statement shared via his official account on X (formerly Twitter), the Saudi minister said the meeting addressed prospects for joint cooperation in defense and military fields between the two friendly nations.

The discussions also covered current regional developments, particularly in light of ongoing Iranian attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and several countries in the region, and their implications for international peace and security.

Earlier this week (Monday), Prince Khalid met with UK Defence Secretary John Healey, where both sides reviewed the strategic defense partnership between their countries and explored opportunities to further develop it. They also discussed regional developments and their impact on regional and global stability, while condemning continued Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom.

Previously, on March 24, he met with French Minister for the Armed Forces Catherine Vautrin. The meeting focused on bilateral defense relations and ways to strengthen them, as well as regional developments and their broader implications, with both sides condemning repeated Iranian attacks against Saudi Arabia.

On March 25, Prince Khalid also received a phone call from Hungarian Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky. The call addressed ongoing regional developments amid continued Iranian attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and several countries in the region, and their impact on regional and international security.

BETH Analysis

These engagements reflect growing defense coordination between Saudi Arabia and its international partners at a time of expanding regional challenges and increasing demand for multilateral military cooperation.

They also indicate that defense diplomacy is no longer separate from the operational landscape,
but has become an integral part of managing regional balances amid ongoing escalation.
