The CEO of Red Sea Global, John Pagano, announced that the group plans to open five resorts at the Amaala destination next month, as part of its expansion strategy in Saudi Arabia’s luxury tourism sector.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9) in Riyadh, Pagano stated that work is currently underway on 27 hotels and resorts across The Red Sea and Amaala projects, noting that 10 properties are already operational.

He added that three additional hotels will open before the end of the year, with all 27 hotels expected to be fully operational by next May.

Pagano emphasized that all facilities are powered by renewable energy and supported by integrated infrastructure, including the new airport that has been operational since 2023, reinforcing a sustainable tourism model.

He also highlighted the group’s ambition to attract visitors from around the world—including South America and Asia—alongside its international expansion plans, with a new hotel in Italy set to reflect Saudi hospitality and cultural identity.

What is happening is not merely the opening of resorts…
but the establishment of a global tourism model with a Saudi identity.

  • The pace of openings signals a shift from “development” to “operation”
  • The focus on renewable energy positions the project within the global sustainable tourism market
  • International expansion (Italy) indicates that the model is no longer local… but exportable

Amaala is not just a new destination…
it is part of redefining Saudi tourism on a global scale.
