The Arabian Internet and Communications Services Company (solutions by stc) has signed a contract with Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) to implement a supercomputing project for exploration and production, valued at SAR 1.4 billion (including VAT).
The company stated in a release that the contract duration is one year, and the project aims to establish an advanced high-performance computing infrastructure to support Aramco’s digital capabilities in oil and gas exploration and reservoir analysis.
The project includes developing an integrated technological system that accelerates data processing and enhances operational efficiency, reflecting the growing shift toward digital transformation in the energy sector.
High-Performance Infrastructure
The infrastructure will consist of two interconnected supercomputing systems operating as a unified platform, enabling the processing of massive volumes of data with high speed and efficiency, supported by advanced technologies from leading global providers.
This system is expected to enhance subsurface imaging and data analysis capabilities, providing more accurate and faster insights, and supporting exploration and development operations.
solutions by stc will implement the project end-to-end, including system deployment, software licensing, as well as managed support and operations services throughout the platform lifecycle.
Strategic Digital Partnership
The project represents an extension of the strategic partnership between solutions by stc and Saudi Aramco, particularly in advancing the digital infrastructure of the energy sector.
The company indicated that the financial impact of the contract is expected to appear in its financial statements starting from the first quarter of 2027, highlighting its medium-term economic significance.
The project also reflects the strength of solutions by stc’s advanced digital ecosystem in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, as well as its role in enabling digital infrastructure and supporting the growth of the digital economy in the Kingdom.
