Egypt Affirms Support for Saudi Arabia and Gulf States

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held a phone call on Monday evening with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency stated that President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s full support and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the current developments taking place in the region, stressing Egypt’s strong rejection and condemnation of the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom, describing them as an unacceptable violation of the sovereignty of a sister Arab state.
The Egyptian president also emphasized the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of all Arab states and safeguarding the resources of their peoples.
El-Sisi praised the efforts undertaken by the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince, to maintain regional stability and contain the current escalation.
For his part, Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed appreciation for Egypt’s supportive stance toward the Kingdom, affirming the deep historical and fraternal relations between the two countries.
The spokesperson added that the call addressed ways to strengthen joint Arab efforts to confront the challenges facing Arab countries and activate the concept of Arab national security. The two sides also agreed to continue consultations between the two countries in order to enhance security and stability in the region.
The Egyptian president also held phone calls today with leaders of Gulf states, reaffirming Egypt’s support in confronting the Iranian attacks.
