The Grand Promenade in Diriyah
Riyadh | BETH
The Diriyah Company has announced the official design of the Grand Promenade project, one of the most prominent new urban developments in Diriyah, featuring an architectural style inspired by authentic Najdi architecture, making it a major destination for pedestrians, shopping, and culture.
The project extends over 1.9 kilometers, forming an urban artery linking Diriyah with King Saud University. It is considered one of the ideas adopted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as part of the vision to develop Diriyah into a global destination that blends history with modernity.
Project Landmarks
The project includes seven iconic landmarks, most notably the Royal Opera House, Diriyah Arena, Riyadh Train Station, and the Grand Mosque, in addition to a range of cultural and entertainment facilities.
The development will also feature six international hotels providing around 1,300 rooms, alongside 85,000 square meters of restaurants and retail space, 400,000 square meters of commercial offices, and 2,400 luxury residential units.
The promenade will provide around 12,000 parking spaces to serve visitors and residents, with a strong focus on landscaping and green spaces as part of its urban sustainability concept.
The project’s cost is estimated at more than $63 billion, as part of the broader development plan to position Diriyah as one of the world’s leading cultural and tourism destinations.
