Saudi Arabia Launches Coordination Council for Mining Complexes
Riyadh | BETH – February 4, 2026
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has launched the “Coordination Council for Mining Complexes” to strengthen public-private integration in the construction materials quarrying sector and enhance the operational efficiency and investment attractiveness of mining complexes across the Kingdom.
The initiative aims to establish an integrated operating model, improve institutional coordination, and address operational, regulatory, and investment challenges, while ensuring high standards of governance, sustainability, and social responsibility.
The first phase was launched at Jeddah Crushers Complex and Jabal Al-‘Id Complex in the Makkah region, supporting construction material supply chains for major development projects. The rollout will be expanded to other regions in phases.
Saudi Arabia currently has 329 licensed mining complexes, with sand, gravel, and aggregate sites forming the backbone of the construction sector.
