reef-saudi-arabia-achieves-sar-5.6-billion-in-agricultural-market-value-by-2025
Riyadh | BETH – Jan 12, 2026
Saudi Arabia’s Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Reef Saudi Arabia) has generated more than SAR 5.6 billion (US$1.49 billion) in total market value across its core agricultural sectors by the end of 2025, underscoring the Kingdom’s accelerating push to diversify its economy and strengthen food security under Vision 2030.
The program, which supports small farmers and rural producers across the Kingdom, has become a key driver of agribusiness growth, sustainability and income generation in rural regions, according to official figures released this week.
Speaking to BETH, Majed Al-Buraikan, official spokesperson for Reef Saudi Arabia, said the strong market performance reflects a “qualitative shift” in how Saudi agricultural products are developed, marketed and integrated into the national economy.
“Reaching these levels of market value confirms that Saudi rural agriculture is no longer marginal. It is becoming a productive, competitive and economically viable sector,” Al-Buraikan said, adding that the program plays a critical role in boosting domestic production, improving farmers’ incomes and advancing environmental sustainability.
High-Value Growth Sectors
According to Reef data:
Fruit production generated more than SAR 2.3 billion in market value
Saudi coffee (arabica) reached SAR 825 million
The remaining value came from honey, roses and rain-fed crops
These five sectors form the backbone of the program’s rural development strategy, which focuses on high-value, climate-adapted and culturally significant agricultural products.
Strategic Role in Food Security
Reef Saudi Arabia provides both financial support and technical advisory services to small farmers, beekeepers, fishermen and rural households, helping them adopt modern agricultural practices, increase productivity and access local and regional markets.
The initiative supports sectors including honey, fruits, Saudi coffee, roses, rain-fed crops, livestock and fisheries, as well as value-added agricultural processing.
The program is a key pillar of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda to diversify the economy beyond oil, strengthen domestic food supply chains and build resilient rural communities.
