The bulletin on industrial licenses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued by the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information of the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources revealed that the number of factories produced and under construction in the Kingdom until the end of the fourth quarter of 2021 AD amounted to 10,293 factories, with a capital estimated at 1.33 trillion riyals. , led by factories working in the manufacture of non-metallic minerals products, then factories for rubber and plastics products, and factories for formed metal products.

The bulletin revealed that national factories top the productive and under construction factories by type of investment by more than 85%, followed by foreign factories by 8%, then joint investment factories by 7.9%, while the Riyadh region occupied the largest proportion of the total number of producing and under construction factories by about 4,128 factories, followed by the Eastern Province with 2,248 factories, and then the Makkah Al Mukarramah Province with 1,948.

She pointed out that small enterprises represented the largest percentage of the total factories in the Kingdom until the end of the period, reaching 5,101 facilities, followed by medium enterprises with 4,361, then large enterprises, which recorded 831 of the total factories produced and under construction.

The changes in licenses and factories that started production during the fourth quarter of 2021 included, where 208 new industrial licenses were issued, and production began in 231 factories with an investment volume of 4.618 billion riyals, while the volume of investment in new licenses amounted to 5,562 billion riyals.

According to the bulletin, the number of factories with foreign investment in the Kingdom has reached 782, accounting for nearly 8% of the total factories, while the proportion of factories with joint investments (national / foreign) exceeded 7%, with 751 factories out of the total number of factories amounting to 10,293 factories.
