Beth: The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asumi, affirmed that the commitment of Arab countries to the provisions of the Arab Charter on Human Rights represents the most effective and practical response to the misleading allegations made by some organizations about the human rights situation in Arab countries, which are not based on facts or objective evidence. Especially since some of them are issued by organizations that are not concerned with this.
This came in his speech during the opening session of the nineteenth session of the Arab Human Rights Committee of the Arab League (the Charter Committee), which is the session devoted to discussing the report submitted by Iraq.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament said that Iraq is a pivotal country in the Arab region and in the regional system as a whole, adding that restoring its historical role and returning to its Arab incubator is of great strategic importance to the joint Arab action system, and a qualitative addition to safeguarding Arab national security.
Al-Soumi reiterated the Arab Parliament’s keenness to consolidate the values and principles of human rights, expressing its aspiration to strengthen cooperation and coordinate efforts between the Arab Observatory for Human Rights of the Arab Parliament and the Charter Committee of the Arab League, with the aim of strengthening the Arab human rights system at all levels, based on the fact that diplomacy The official and the parliamentary are two wings that complement each other in serving the interests of the Arab people and defending their causes.
