Al-Dayer Governorate opened its arms to receive the largest public carnival and the annual community mobilization, “The Ninth Saudi Khawlani Coffee Festival”, which celebrates the crops of farms specialized in the production of Saudi Khawlani coffee.
In the current festival edition, 150 farms are participating. Temperament and cultural bragging worldwide.
Al-Dayer Governorate, located on the eastern side of the Jazan region, occupies the first place in the Kingdom in the number of farms and Saudi Khawlani coffee trees. There are 994 farms that embrace more than 218,000 coffee trees, to produce more than 600,000 kilos of Saudi Khawlani coffee each year.
The farms in the governorate are seeking to achieve excellence through the initiative to rehabilitate agricultural terraces, where 589 farms have been rehabilitated, in addition to the organic transformation program, which includes more than 25 organic farms, to come up with better agricultural practices, by not using pesticides and chemical sprays, and resorting to natural manure Groundwater and rain only, to produce high quality coffee.
It is worth noting that the Saudi Khawlani Coffee Festival is currently being held in Al-Dayer Governorate during the period from January 22-28, and it coincides with the launch of the Ministry of Culture’s initiative “The Year of Saudi Coffee 2022 AD” to celebrate Saudi coffee as a cultural and historical heritage.
