Saudi Arabia .. Establishing a "Snam" factory to assemble passenger cars in Jubail
Today, the CEO of the Royal Commission in Jubail, Dr. Ahmed bin Zaid Al Hussein, laid the foundation stone for the Sanam factory for assembling passenger cars, which is the first of its kind in the Kingdom to assemble passenger cars, which is hosted by Jubail Industrial City in the Plas Chem complex.
The CEO of the Royal Commission in Jubail stressed that the Royal Commission in Jubail supports the localization of such industries that have a high return on the national economy and through which they contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Dr. Fahad bin Sulaiman Al-Duhaish, CEO of Sanam Company, stated that today is the beginning of the first step for the first phase, which will be an assembly phase with a technical license from the technical partner for two types of passenger cars with local content of up to 15%. In the second phase, the localization of the parts from Jubail Industrial City will be the main objective Which will reach a percentage of 30% to 40%, and at the beginning of the launch of the project, 50% of the jobs will be localized as a first stage. He pointed out that the value of the first phase of the project is 300 million riyals.
The technical chief of SsangYong Corporation, Mr. Chang Won Kim, said that they are working to transfer experience to the Sanam Corporation.
The foundation stone laying ceremony also witnessed the signing of several investment agreements.
