The 34th Virtual International Conference of Muslims of Latin America and the Caribbean concludes its work with a statement and 11 recommendations

Broadcast: On Monday evening, the 43rd Conference of Latin American and Caribbean Muslims, organized by the Islamic Call Center in Brazil in cooperation with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, concluded with the title: (Waqf and its Role in Serving Muslim Communities in Latin America and the Caribbean) and lasted for two days. In the presence of a number of scholars, thinkers and Islamic personalities from 30 countries.

The conference issued a final statement that said:

 The Islamic Call Center for Latin America and the Caribbean in Brazil, in cooperation with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, held the 34th virtual international conference entitled Waqf and its role in serving Muslim communities in Latin America and the Caribbean from 21 to 22 Jumada al-Akhirah 1443 H corresponding to January 24 to 25, 2022 AD, with the participation of more than 100 personalities of scholars, preachers, academics and science students from more than 30 Latin American and Caribbean countries and Arab and Islamic countries via the Zoom platform. Among the countries actively participating in this conference: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Republic of Lebanon, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Palestine, the Kingdom of Sweden, Australia and Canada.

The final statement of the conference noted the sessions held in which 34 research papers and working papers were discussed on five axes that included the focus of the concept of endowment, its types and conditions, the fields of endowment, its objectives and its importance for Muslim minorities, the endowment from a legal perspective, historical and contemporary models of the endowment, the reasons for the weakness of the endowment in the present era And ways to activate it among the Muslim minorities.

The conference also issued recommendations that included expressing thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God preserve them - for their support, interest and care for the Muslim communities in Latin America and the Caribbean They also thanked and appreciated the Government of the Federal Republic of Brazil for its interest in the Muslim community in Brazil.

The conference also expressed thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance for its sponsorship, participation in and support for this conference, and thanks to His Excellency the Minister Sheikh Dr. for the conference.

At the conclusion of its statement, the conference recommended the importance of defining the broad concept of endowment, highlighting its importance in building a civilized history for Muslims, the need of Muslim communities for it, and spreading the culture of endowment through available means with a focus on modern means of communication, as well as spreading knowledge of the endowment’s eschatological purposes, and that it is charity. The ongoing process that does not stop with the death of a person.. and its dissemination of the worldly purposes of the endowment and that it meets the needs of necessary and urgent societies such as mosques, universities and hospitals, and the teaching of the legal rulings related to the endowment in universities and Islamic institutes.

He also recommended holding workshops and focus sessions for those in charge of the endowment and its trustees on developing performance, improving management and developing internal regulations to be in line with the criteria for successful performance.. and establishing partnerships between endowment departments and zakat funds to advance the endowment wheel to the imam, and denouncing and denouncing the repeated attacks on Makkah Al-Mukarramah, the incubator of Muslims’ qiblah and lands The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and their civilians were attacked by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias, and the international community was called upon to assume its responsibilities towards them.
