The Ministry of Municipalities and the Eastern Municipality achieve Guinness World Records by planting the largest logo for the “Green Saudi Arabia” initiative

Beth: The Eastern Province Municipality entered the Guinness Book of Records, in return for implementing the largest slogan of the “Green Saudi Arabia” initiative, which was launched earlier by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, where the Municipality succeeded in planting 6250 jatropha trees. In a triangle in the Al-Shati neighborhood, opposite the Corniche of the waterfront in Dammam, on an area of ​​6200 square meters, the problem of the slogan “Green Saudi Arabia”, in which more than 400 male and female volunteers participated, and achieved more than 200 volunteer hours.

On this occasion, His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid Al-Hogail, honored His Excellency the Mayor of the Eastern Province, Eng. Fahd bin Muhammad Al-Jubeir, and awarded him a Guinness World Record for achieving this success by the Trust, and a similar certificate to the Secretariat’s Services Agency (General Administration of Community Participation).

His Excellency also handed over a certificate granted by the same encyclopedia to the Department of Support and Empowerment of Trusts, which was received by the Undersecretary for Licensing and Compliance, the General Supervisor of the Department of Support and Empowerment of Trusts, Engineer Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Saeed, to achieve this achievement by the Eastern Province Municipality, during his inspection tour that he made to the Eastern Province Secretariat last Sunday, corresponding to 20/06/1443 AH.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid Al-Hogail, stressed that this great achievement is the result of the concerted efforts of everyone in the Eastern Region Municipality by contributing to increasing the green area and its per capita share through afforestation and the establishment of parks and green spaces with the aim of raising the quality of life and the continuation of the afforestation process and strengthening the vegetation cover Concerning the protection of the environment and the preservation and development of the natural vegetation cover

In line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in protecting the environment and natural resources to achieve sustainable development and community well-being, stressing the importance of afforestation in maintaining ecological balance, and its role in purifying the air.

For his part, His Excellency the Mayor of the Eastern Province, Eng. Fahd bin Muhammad Al-Jubeir, valued this honor, considering that this achievement comes within the secretariat’s strategic plan aimed at improving the quality of life by increasing reliance on clean energy and neutralizing the resulting effects of protecting the environment and combating climate change, through several initiatives launched by the secretariat. Such as “Eastern Green”, through which it succeeded in implementing the largest slogan of the “Green Saudi” initiative, through the use of types of planted trees that are distinguished by their tolerance of temperatures and cold and their average consumption of water.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs for Licensing and Compliance and the General Supervisor of the Department of Support and Empowerment of Trusts, Eng. Abdullah bin Saeed, valued this achievement, which is considered an achievement for all employees of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and employees of the Eastern Province Municipality in promoting the concept of preserving the environment

Raising the rate of afforestation in the Kingdom in general and the Eastern Province in particular, explaining that this certificate is a message of thanks to all workers in the municipal sector and the Eastern Municipality for these great efforts in increasing the green area

He said that there is coordination with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to choose the types of plants, and that there is a service in some secretariats to select certain types of seedlings that the citizen chooses and that is provided to him, delivered and planted in his home for free.


He stressed that there is coordination between the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture on the use of certain types of plants and trees that are commensurate with the nature of each region of the Kingdom. during afforestation.
