The decision of the Arab League in its extraordinary session regarding the terrorist attack on the UAE (text).

The decision issued by the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of permanent delegates at its extraordinary session today, Sunday, affirmed the support and support of the UAE’s right to self-defense and response to aggression under international law, and its appreciation of its keenness to adhere to and respect international law and its compliance with relevant United Nations resolutions.

The resolution also called on the United Nations and the Security Council to assume their responsibility and take a unified and decisive stance against the Houthi attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to deter and confront the ongoing atrocities of the Houthi militia against civilians and their deliberate obstruction of the delivery of humanitarian aid and the confiscation of food in Yemen.

The text of the decision of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates, which was held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, included:

1- Strongly condemn and denounce the brutal and sinful terrorist attack on civilians and civilian objects by the terrorist Houthi militia with three cruise missiles on the Musaffah ICAD 3 area and the new construction area at Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates on January 17

2022, which led to the explosion of 3 oil tankers, killing three people and wounding six innocent civilians.

2 - Welcoming the solidarity of countries and regional and international organizations with the United Arab Emirates, and its condemnation of the attacks committed by the Houthi militia against civilian areas and facilities as a cowardly and sinful attack.

3- Welcoming the unified position unanimously expressed by the United Nations Security Council in its statement issued on January 21, 2022, in which the members of the Council condemned in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist attacks perpetrated by the Houthi militia.

4- Emphasizing that these terrorist attacks perpetrated by the terrorist Houthi militia constitute a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and a real threat to vital civilian facilities, energy supplies and the stability of the global economy. It also poses a threat to regional peace and security, undermines Arab national security, harms international peace and security, and poses a threat to international commercial shipping lines.

5- Emphasizing that the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militias reflect their terrorist nature and reveal their true goals of destabilizing the security and stability of the region and defying the rules of international law and international humanitarian law.

6- Emphasizing absolute solidarity with the UAE and standing by it and supporting it in all the measures it takes to defend its security, the security of its people and those residing on its land, and its national interests and capabilities.

7- Endorsing and supporting the UAE’s right to self-defense and responding to aggression under international law, and appreciating the UAE’s keenness to adhere to and respect international law and its compliance with relevant United Nations resolutions.

8- Demanding all countries to classify the Houthi group as a terrorist organization after its missile and drone attacks on the United Arab Emirates in the face of this heinous terrorist act.

9- Emphasizing the need for the international community to stand united

11 - To request the Secretary-General to follow up the implementation of this resolution and to submit a report in this regard to the Council at its next extraordinary session.
