The joint Saudi-American exercise "Prevention Shield 3" continues
Dammam - The Saudi armed forces and the US forces, with the participation of several government agencies, continue the “Prevention Shield-3” exercise, which began several days ago as part of the joint exercise plan between the two friendly countries with the aim of training and planning for crisis management resulting from weapons of mass destruction.
The official spokesman for the exercise, Colonel Badr bin Saad Al-Theban, explained that the first phase of the exercise was successfully carried out under the supervision of the general supervisor of the exercise, Major General Khaled bin Saeed Abu Qais, indicating that several seminars and theoretical lectures were held on protection from weapons of mass destruction, and the training of commanders and staff on planning. To manage this type of crises, manage operations centers, in addition to holding workshops.
He added that the second phase of the exercise started today with the implementation of a number of tasks and practical hypotheses, such as warning, disinfection, reconnaissance, exposure to a ballistic missile attack loaded with a chemical agent, pollution of surrounding areas and casualties, which requires rapid intervention to deal with the event.
Colonel Al-Theban thanked all the participants in the exercise from the friendly US forces, branches of the armed forces, the Ministry of Health, Civil Defense and the Saudi Red Crescent for their efforts to make the exercise a success.
