Saudi Arabia .. Issuing 68 industrial licenses in November .. And 64 factories start production
The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced the issuance of 68 new industrial licenses during the month of November, with investments amounting to 735 million riyals, recording a monthly increase in the number of new licenses estimated at 14% compared to last October, while the total number of existing factories in the Kingdom until the end of Last November 2021, about 10,253 industrial facilities.
A report issued by the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information indicated that the new industrial licenses accounted for the largest share of them according to the type of activity for the food products industry, with 14 licenses, then the chemical products industry with 9 licenses, while Riyadh came in the forefront through the geographical distribution of the new industrial licenses with 24 licenses. , then the Eastern Province with 17 licenses.
The report pointed out that small factories accounted for 89% of the number of new industrial licenses during the past month, while new licenses from medium industrial establishments amounted to 8.7%, and national factories accounted for about 90% of the total new factories, while foreign investment recorded nearly 5 % of these licenses.
Regarding the industrial facilities that started production in November, the report indicated that production started in 64 factories, 36 of which are in Riyadh, while Makkah Al-Mukarramah came in second place with 14 factories.
With regard to the activity of the factories that started production last month, the activity of formed metals came first with ten factories, followed by the activity of the food products industry with eight factories.
The report indicated that the volume of investments in the factories that started production is estimated at 1.6 billion riyals, and small factories accounted for the majority of them, with more than 70%, followed by medium enterprises with approximately 26%, and the share of national investments was 70%, while the volume of foreign investments exceeded 10%. The report of the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information stated that the industrial sector during the month of November provided 2,383 jobs, while 3,930 foreign employees left during the same month.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issues, through the National Center for Industrial Information, on a monthly basis, the most important industrial indicators that clarify the nature of the movement of industrial activity in the Kingdom, in addition to revealing the size of the change witnessed by the sector in new industrial investments, in addition to the size of jobs provided by the sector.
