Saudi Arabia hosts the 3x3 Basketball World Tour Finals
The city of Jeddah will host on the 17th of this December, the finals of the World Basketball Champions Tour 3×3, with the participation of 12 teams, representing the elite teams in the world, organized by the Ministry of Sports in coordination with the Saudi Basketball Federation, and under the supervision of the International Basketball Federation FIBA.
The Kingdom’s hosting of this tournament, which falls under the “Quality of Life” program, comes for the third time, after it hosted one of the tournament’s rounds in 2019, before it was assigned the task of organizing the tournament in 2020, amid exceptional circumstances represented by the emerging Corona Virus pandemic (Covid-19). ).
The President of the Saudi Basketball Federation, Dr. Ghassan Tashkandi, expressed his happiness at the Kingdom's hosting of this global event, as it hosts many international sporting events and events, in light of the support and attention given to the sports sector by the wise leadership - may God support it - until it became a stable destination. To host the largest competitions throughout the year, in addition to the keenness and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, for all federations, and his direct supervision of the organization of various sporting events.
He added, “The elite of the world’s teams are present in the 3×3 basketball game in the Kingdom for the third time, after one of the rounds was hosted in 2019 AD and the final round last year, and there is no doubt that the experience and distinction gained by the young men and women of this country in terms of the ability to Organizing such sporting events is one of the important incentives and factors for choosing the Kingdom once again to host this tournament in particular, and various sporting events in general.”
