Philosophers of the world meet in their first conference in Riyadh

RIYADH - The Literary, Publishing and Translation Authority will launch (Wednesday, December 07, 2021 AD for three days) the work of the "Riyadh Philosophy" conference at the King Fahd National Library under the slogan "The Unexpected", and it will bring together distinguished international and regional thinkers and institutions to discuss the most pressing contemporary philosophical issues.

The conference program includes a set of interactive plenary sessions and workshops that address contemporary issues, highlighting the role of philosophy and its assistance in understanding the world today, in addition to its coverage of human cases. The second and third.

The events will witness 30 sessions, lectures and workshops dealing with various topics, including: “Philosophy in Islam: Perspectives from Our Heritage”, “UNESCO’s Work in Promoting Philosophy”, “The Good Side of the Concept of the Unexpected in Philosophy”, and “Mystery and Complexity: How does the individual deal with privacy in our modern world", "Homo Detritus (Destructive Man) and the spaciousness of time", and why Islamic philosophy goes beyond mere philosophy, and other titles that address the reality of philosophy in the contemporary world.

It presents multi-directional interactive workshops, including a workshop entitled: “Doing justice to the concept of the unexpected: Law and society in the face of the unexpected”, “Why (and how) we inspire children to become philosophers”, and “The Unexpected and the Limits of the Human Mind”, in addition to dialogue sessions with A number of speakers and academics, which will include discussions with the audience in various philosophical fields.

The Riyadh Philosophy Conference is the first philosophical conference of its kind to be held in the Kingdom, which will be organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority annually with the aim of creating a dialogue space that discusses the latest developments in philosophy and its modern applications, and supports philosophical content that is multidimensional and horizons, in addition to building bridges of cooperation between institutions active in the field of philosophy.
