He added that Indonesia will work - during its tenure as chair of the group - to urge member states to build bridges of cooperation among themselves so that the global economy can recover. Under the slogan "We recover together... we become stronger."
Moreover, Jokowi expressed his pride in the confidence of the G20 countries in Indonesia. He considered that Indonesia's assumption of the presidency of the Group of Twenty is an opportunity that enables it to make more contributions to reviving the global economy.
The President stressed that Indonesia will strive to establish a just and sustainable global governance based on the principles of world peace and social justice.
Jokowi added, "Indonesia seeks to build fair global governance, aims to strengthen global solidarity to meet the challenges of climate change and sustainable development, and is making unremitting efforts to push developed countries to commit to helping developing countries."
On the same occasion, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Erlanga Hartarto, said that Indonesia's presidency of the G20 aims to seek a stronger world exit from the Corona pandemic crisis.

Indonesia will formally take over the rotating G-20 presidency from Italy; From December 1, 2021 to November 30, 2022.
The Group of Twenty is a global forum founded in 1999 and consists of 19 countries in addition to the European Union. Its member states collectively contribute about 80 percent of the world's economic output and 75 percent of the global trade volume.
