Al-Asoumi stressed that there are many commonalities between Arab countries and European countries, which can be built upon to start a new phase of positive cooperation between the two sides, stressing the need for a deeper and fair European understanding of Arab issues.

On the parliamentary relations between the Arab countries and Italy, Fico affirmed his full support for the Al-Asumi initiative to establish an Italian-Arab Parliamentary Forum, expressing full readiness for joint coordination regarding launching this initiative, based on his great belief in the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties and deepening mutual understanding between the two countries.
