The Global Artificial Intelligence Summit concludes its work with a package of initiatives and partnerships

Riyadh -The World Summit for Artificial Intelligence concluded its activities Thursday.The summit was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, under the title “Artificial Intelligence for the Good of Humanity” Andregulated by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SADAA).

During the activities of the World Summit, the speech of His Highness the Crown Prince was delivered on his behalf by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi President of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, in which he affirmed that the year 2020 is an exceptional year to test the potential of artificial intelligence at a time when a new global situation is forming that will re-establish Define lifestyles, business and learning.

The events  of the two-day World Summit were watched by more than four and a half million viewers through the various live broadcast channels available on social media.
The summit included 30 sessions, in which nearly 60 speakers participated,including ministers, leaders of global entities, academics, investors, and business leaders from 20 countries.

The summit aimed to create a global destination for AI activities, which is the capital,Riyadh, where the summit will be held annually to discuss the reality, future and issues of artificial intelligence, and shed light on the latest research and technologies in this field.

The summit discussed, within its agenda, the role of artificial intelligence in building life and the future, and means of transition to the new era characterized by
intelligence collectively and without exceptions, as the Kingdom launched international cooperation opportunities with global partners to enable this promise, and unleash the potential of artificial intelligence for humanity.

On the first day of the summit, the Kingdom launched the National Strategy for Data and Artificial Intelligence, "Nusdi", with an ambitious vision to make the best of data and artificial intelligence a tangible reality. The strategy aims to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data and artificial intelligence at the national and global levels.

During the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence, the Kingdom signed three strategic agreements with IBM, Ali Baba and Huawei, in addition to signing a memorandum of understanding with the International Telecommunication Union to develop aglobal framework that supports international cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence. The Kingdom, represented by “SADAYA”, worked with the World Bank on a joint initiative in the context of the Kingdom’s endeavor to enhance the digital economy in developing them into engines for economic development. In addition to hosting an advisory session in cooperation with the United Nations, to establish an advisory body on global cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, to address issues around integration, coordination and capacity building.

At the conclusion of the summit, the winners of both "NEOM Challenge" and "Artificial Intelligence Artathon" were announced as one of the summit's tracks, and the winners received Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, and the CEO of NEOM, Engineer Nazmi Al-Nasr.The World Summit on Artificial Intelligence comes on the sidelines of the Kingdom's hosting of the Twentieth Summit, and in the context of the Kingdom's endeavor to achieve its aspirations for global leadership through the data-based economy and artificial intelligence, and to emphasize the importance of international cooperation in order to use artificial intelligence for the good of humanity, and its role in "SADAYA" in the strategic leadership of the alternative economy, in cooperation with many relevant authorities to contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
