The United States imposes sanctions on six Iranians and an Iranian entity

Today, the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has designated six Iranian individuals and one Iranian entity, pursuant to Executive Order 13848, for their attempt to influence the 2020 US presidential election.

The US Treasury indicated, in a press release yesterday, that the Iranian persons and entities identified sought to sow discord and undermine voter confidence in the US electoral process, spread misinformation on social media, and send threatening emails, in addition to a fake video clip in An attempt to undermine confidence in the elections by hinting at the possibility of casting fraudulent votes.
