The award was received on behalf of His Excellency Amin Al Sharqiya, Under-Secretary for Reconstruction and Projects, Eng. Mazen bin Adel Bakharji, and Assistant Undersecretary for Reconstruction, Eng. Zaki bin Hassan Al-Omran, in the Eastern Province Municipality, by His Excellency Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics, Eng. Fahd bin Muhammad Al-Jubeir, expressed his happiness with this award, congratulating His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef, Governor of the Eastern Province, His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman, His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid Bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, for achieving a development project in the center of Awamiya in Qatif Governorate, for the Silver Excellence Award, noting that this project is a center of civilizational radiation that simulates the past, present and future, which receives great attention and continuous support from His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province and the follow-up of His Highness his deputy, They are keen to provide the best services to citizens and residents in the region, as well as the keenness and support of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.

The Central Al-Awamiya project is one of the most important development projects in the Eastern Province. The award-winning project extends over an area of ​​more than 180,000 square metres. The idea of ​​its development was inspired by the rich history and architectural heritage culture in Qatif Governorate. The project also includes a number of architectural monuments that provide multiple services between Cultural and tourism services to serve the residents and visitors of Qatif Governorate.

The downtown Awamiya project is considered an area that represents the original heritage and elaborate architecture in the region, to embrace the nobility of the past, the insistence of the present, and the vision of the future, which used in its development several elements such as historical monuments, towers, and existing water springs that were linked to each other by channels representing the channels used in the past for irrigation. In addition to the use of natural materials such as wood and rocks to create a heritage environment that brings back many memories of the people and residents of Qatif.

The eyes were highlighted through the construction of traditional structures, while the various buildings in the project were implemented with their different functions on the site to link the entire scheme, along with the most important buildings in the project such as “the towers, the popular market, and the cultural center, with the central square in the middle”, designed to accommodate large events such as National Day and Eid Celebrations.

The urban center, with an area of ​​5,323 square meters, is the heart of the project, and it consists of three buildings, united by a huge canopy that covers the main square, next to a library, conference hall, and exhibitions. 866 square meters, adapted from the towers of Tarout Castle, and the towers are distinguished by their thick mud walls with narrow windows, while the heritage house was made of traditional original materials with an area of ​​1200 square meters, while the popular market extends along the road leading to the central square, which consists of Seven buildings of varying sizes with a total area of ​​4,327 square meters, featuring open balconies that can be used as cafes, restrooms for visitors, and places to display merchandise.

The project also includes courtyard buildings in the main squares and palm yards, which extend over a total area of ​​2,153 square meters, and each building has an open square surrounded by shops and restaurants.
