Expansion of the World Defense Exhibition
RIYADH - The General Authority for Military Industries, the organizer of the World Defense Exhibition, as a leading global event in the field of defense and security, revealed its plan to expand the exhibition halls, as a result of the great demand from international and local authorities to participate in the first edition of the exhibition, to be held in Riyadh during the period From 6 to 9 March 2022 AD.
Less than four months before the start of the exhibition, the organizers confirmed the expansion of the first exhibition hall, where an area of 14,500 square meters will be added to it, in order to provide an opportunity for more international and local companies to participate and display their products.
The additional space will include an area for displaying ground and air equipment, and an area that connects visitors with sixty hospitality suites to hold meetings between suppliers and customers.
The World Defense Show is the first global event for the defense and security industries to dedicate an amphitheater, with construction work progressing in full swing in preparation for completion by the end of the year.
The exhibition, which covers an area of approximately 800,000 square meters, will host more than 800 exhibitors, including 100 local companies specialized in the defense and security sector, as well as a group of senior officials and military delegations.
Shawn Ormerod, CEO of the International Defense Exhibition, expressed his happiness at the great turnout of international companies to participate in the first edition of the exhibition, as the exhibition is the first event dedicated to reviewing the integration of technical systems across the five areas of the defense and security industry, allowing all stakeholders in the sector to showcase the capabilities of operational compatibility on highest levels.
Ormerod pointed out that the design and construction of a dedicated headquarters for the exhibition allowed the organizers to meet the needs of all customers from local companies and global manufacturers, by providing the necessary spaces, and building facilities designed to present integrated live shows, including a 3-km runway for displaying military aircraft, and a rugged desert area for manufacturers. Those who want to showcase the capabilities of their equipment through real customer experiences.
The International Defense Exhibition is a global platform to showcase operational compatibility across the five domains of the defense industry: land, sea, air, space and information security. The event will be held once every two years in Riyadh.
The registration portal was launched for specialists in the field of defense and security to obtain entry permits to the exhibition at a reduced cost through early registration at prices starting from 350 Saudi riyals (95 dollars) until the end of November 2021 AD, and all participants who will be issued permits after approval of their applications will receive an entry visa Multi-free to the Kingdom and valid for one year, with the aim of advancing the progress of the defense and security industry after the expo ends.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Military Industries Company is the strategic partner of the exhibition, which aims to lay the foundations for upgrading the defense industries and facing the challenges that surround them, in order to achieve deeper integration of defense systems, by providing a platform for communication and international knowledge exchange between major manufacturers, small and medium companies and customers.
