Workers of the Parsian gas and petroleum refinery in Lamard, Fars Governorate, on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, announced a strike for the fourth consecutive day, to protest against poor living conditions and non-payment of their salaries.
On the same day, workers at the Razi Petrochemical Company in Mahshahr continued their strike for the third consecutive day, to protest against non-payment of salaries and discrimination between official and contracted employees.
On Monday, October 19, a group of retired oil companies in the cities of Ahvaz and Isfahan organized protest rallies to demand that their salaries and demands be addressed.
In another development, on 19 and 20 October, livestock owners gathered for the first time in Tehran to protest against food shortages and poor living conditions.
