New Zealand's Lydia Ko wins the Saudi Aramco International Golf Championship

JEDDAH - New Zealand player Lydia Ko won the Saudi Aramco Women’s International Golf Championship presented by the Public Investment Fund, at the conclusion of the championship competitions in its second edition, which was hosted by the Royal Greens Club and Stadium in King Abdullah Economic City, with the participation of 100 of the world’s elite golf players.

The CEO of Aramco, Amin Al-Nasser, and CEO of Saudi Golf and the Saudi Golf Federation, Majed Al-Surour, crowned the New Zealand star “Lydia Ko” with her first title in the Kingdom, which she achieved after she topped the competitions in 3 out of 4 days to record 23 under par.

Ko was able to win the championship, and get the largest share of her prize pool of one million dollars, while Thailand’s Athayathikul finished second with 18 under par, and third place was taken by Spain’s Carlotta Seganda and England’s Aleshuson, who scored 13 under par.

For his part, Al-Sorour congratulated the New Zealand player Lydia, expressing his thanks to the participating players, all partners and employees of the Saudi Golf and the Saudi Golf Federation for the efforts made, noting that the tournament has become one of the most important international tournaments by attracting the best names in women’s golf.

Koo expressed her happiness at winning the title amidst strong competition from the players, and thanked the tournament organizers for their support, organization and warm welcome.
