Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki inaugurates the construction works at the headquarters of the Mahd Sports Academy in Riyadh
RIYADH - Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports, inaugurated the construction works at the headquarters of the Mahd Sports Academy in Riyadh.
The construction works include the main building of the academy and its adoption is environmentally friendly, and there will be Olympic-sized football pitches with its own Olympic track, smaller areas, multi-sport fields for basketball, volleyball, handball, and a number of tennis courts.
A multi-games building, a darts building, a residential hotel for athletes, an indoor swimming hall, classrooms, technical and administrative offices, and medical clinics will also be established. All facilities have been based on a high level of innovation.
The head of the Mahd Sports Academy, Abdullah bin Hammad, said: “I am very happy that we have taken this step and I cannot wait for the end of the construction process, and I think it is one of the most important stages we have taken after the stage of establishing and discovering talents,” adding that the construction works will facilitate the way for talents towards making history for Saudi sports. Providing such facilities is a motivation for every athlete.
